  • Meals in the Meantime is partnering with New Faith Baptist Church for our next drive-thru, pop-up food pantry on Saturday, November 1, 2025, 10am, at 25 Central Avenue, Matteson, Illinois 60443. Fresh, healthy, and high-quality grocery bags are available for all who need help with food (first come, first served, one bag per vehicle).
• Edgewater Mutual Aid
  • Edgewater Mutual Aid distributes food and household supplies Saturdays at Edgewater Presbyterian Church.

  • At noon, neighbors in the church are given a random number between 1 and 100. Neighbors who arrive between 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. will receive a sequential number in the order that they arrive, beginning with number 101. To receive a lower number and collect food sooner, arrive before noon.

• The Irving Park Community Food Pantry

  • If you live within our service area (60618 or 60641 ZIP codes), please come in during operating hours! We will register you as a client for monthly food allotments based on your family size. If you live outside of our service area, we can provide you with a small amount of food and direct you to a food pantry that serves your neighborhood.

  • The Pet Food Corner at the Irving Park Community Food Pantry aims to assist unemployed and underemployed families who have trouble feeding and caring for their beloved pets. Pet food distribution occurs during regular Pantry hours, on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and the second Tuesday of every month from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Clients should let the intake coordinator know if pet food is needed.
  • Eligible clients may receive food delivered to their home.
  • Deliveries occur on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, during regular pantry hours. To inquire about homebound delivery, contact Client Services Coordinator, Elvia Esparza (clientservices@irvingparkfoodpantry.org).
  • When available, the Irving Park Community Food Pantry will distribute additional household items such as toiletries and diapers, infant formula, hats, gloves and socks. Clients should inform the intake coordinator if they are in need of any of these items.

• The Friendship Center
  • Residents of Cook County are welcome to utilize the pantry.

  • The Friendship Pet Food Pantry provides free, nutritious dog and cat food for Chicago residents who need temporary assistance to feed their pets. No ID required to receive assistance.
