The Network is dedicated to creating positive change on behalf of domestic violence survivors and the providers who work with them.
Our Policy and Advocacy team engages in the planning, organizing and implementation of The Network’s policy and advocacy agenda including legislative, healthcare, legal, and community based advocacy.
Advocacy Agenda
Activities of the Public Policy and Advocacy Team
The Network focuses on local, statewide, and national policies that affect those impacted by domestic violence.
We remain current on domestic violence related trends, laws, policy, and practice.
We respond to emerging social and public policy issues that affect the Network’s mission.
We research, monitor/track policy and policy development affecting domestic including: reporting on current statistical analytical data and maintaining files on recent stats, relevant articles, reports and other forms of commentary.
We implement The Network’s Policy Platform.
We participate in relevant community committees, commissions and task forces.
We provide training and technical assistance to members on public policy, advocacy and legislative issues.
We organize and present testimony to legislative committees and governmental agencies.
We oversee Domestic Violence Outcomes Measures project and the policy and advocacy recommendations that arise from this data collection
We lead the management of the citywide report on domestic violence needs and services in collaboration with external partners.
