The Network is dedicated to creating positive change on behalf of
domestic violence survivors and the providers who work with them.
Our Policy and Advocacy team is at the forefront, actively involved in shaping and executing The Network’s policy and advocacy agenda. This includes legislative initiatives, healthcare reforms, legal advocacy, and community engagement efforts.

Policy and Advocacy AGENDA
The Network focuses on local, statewide, and national policies affecting those impacted by domestic violence. The following are the Activities of the Public Policy and Advocacy Team.
We remain current on domestic violence related trends, laws, policy, and practice.
We implement and put into action The Network’s Policy Platform.
We research, monitor and track policy and policy development affecting domestic like reporting on current statistical data, maintaining files on recent data, relevant articles, reports and other forms of commentary.
We organize and present testimony to legislative committees and governmental agencies.
We provide training and technical assistance to members on public policy, advocacy and legislative issues.
We oversee Domestic Violence Outcomes Measures project and the policy and advocacy recommendations that arise from this data collection
We participate in relevant community committees, commissions and also task forces.
We respond to emerging social and public policy issues that affect the Network’s mission.
We lead the management of the citywide report on domestic violence needs and services in collaboration with external partners.

MEASURING SAFETY ANNUAL DATA REPORT
Our Policy and Advocacy Team has been working hard towards create an impactful change.

PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION
In 1997, The Network launched the Centralized Training Institute (CTI) to respond to the on-going demand for professional domestic violence prevention and intervention training in Chicagoland. The trainings conducted by CTI are designed to improve the quality of domestic violence services provided to survivors by enhancing the understanding, expertise and skill sets of community members, advocates, organizers and professionals.
