
Marissa Martinez (she/her/ella)
Policy Intern
Marissa Martinez is a Masters of Social Work Candidate at the Jane Addams School of Social Work at UIC. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 2019 with a BA in Sociology and Ethnic Studies, as well as a minor in Legal Studies. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Marissa worked as a housing advocate/case manager for an organization that served survivors of domestic violence and their families prior to starting graduate school. Currently, she also is a Graduate Assistant for the Latin American Recruitment and Educational Services Program at UIC, where she assists with running student programs, such as the Latina Leadership Institute, and recruits at high schools throughout Chicago.
Marissa moved to Chicago in the fall of 2021, and has been enjoying exploring the city as well as the Midwest, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
