Job Description

Neopolitan Lighthouse is non-for-profit community-based organization dedicated to social change by promoting the safety, emotional, educational, and practical needs of those impacted by Gender Based and Domestic Violence. Neopolitan provides comprehensive trauma informed supportive services to assist survivors in breaking the cycle of violence and becoming self-sufficient and self-reliant. The agency is committed to promoting from within the organization. Some of the duties and responsibilities of the Provisions Coordinator are detailed below:

Objective:

This position works with the Executive Director, to achieve the fundraising goals of the organization. This is done primarily through writing grants and proposals.

Grant writing:

  • Develop and write persuasive grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government entities for current and potential donors/funders in compliance with the format requested by the funding entity.
  • Research, identify, and recommend potential grant funding opportunities for the various projects of Neopolitan Lighthouse.
  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with foundations, corporations, and government entities.
  • Work closely with the Executive team and the service program team to develop attainable written goals, objectives, and outcomes to meet various grant requirements.
  • Support the communications efforts of the organization by participating in internal and external funding opportunities to increase the organizations revenue.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as outline by donors grant agreements and contract.
  • Maintain donor records and compose letters of acknowledgement.
  • Work with the Executive team to maintain an up-to-date mailing list of donors and perspective donors.
  • Assist the Executive Director in developing new projects, special events, direct mail campaigns, utilizing diverse funding strategies.
  • Write and update policies and procedures as needed.
  • Develops annual fundraising plan, including a calendar of strategies in collaboration, with the Executive Director.
  • Responsible for ensuring Networking Agreements between Neopolitan Lighthouse and other organizations are current adding new agreements as identified.

Rapid Re-Housing Project:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Rapid Re-Housing Project.
  • Supervise and monitor the Rapid Re-Housing Case Manager.
  • Ensure all reports and documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Rapid Re-Housing Case Manager to ensure documentation (i.e., birth certificates, income verification, social security numbers, etc.)  is entered into the data base systems.
  • Work to ensure the goals and objectives of the project are achieved.

Supervisory/Training Component:

  • Responsible for facilitating the 40-hour domestic violence training for new hires and interns including ensuring training materials are up to date.
  • Responsible for updating, modifying, and reviewing the training manual as trends change and new/existing service delivery is determined as best practices.
  • Coordinate internship opportunities by recruiting, interviewing, and training candidates while co-supervising and completing the required documentation as stipulated by the College/University.
  • Train new hires, volunteers, and interns to ensure a clear understanding and practical application of the training material.
  • Provide community prevention services which include education and outreach.

Social Media:

  • Develop and maintain social media platforms to enhance public awareness of Neopolitan Lighthouse, upcoming events, intern and volunteer opportunities, fundraising events, employment needs, as well as the services and new programing the organization provides.

Donation in Kind:

  • Solicit and coordinate donation in kind giving from local area businesses, churches, and community groups.
  • Respond to request of entities within the community wanting to give in kind donations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred with a minimum 1-year experience in non-for-profit social service setting or.
  • Bachelor’s degree accepted with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in non-for-profit social service setting. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, writing, organizing, and teaching skills.
  • The ability to craft funding proposals in a clear well organized and compelling manner.
  • Superior research, writing, and analytical skills, and the ability to seek and integrate information.
  • Public Speaking and previous supervisory experience needed.
  • Excellent typing ability and computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Must have strong oral, written, analytical, and organizational skills. Must be fluent in Microsoft Office and display meticulous attention to detail.
  • Having a solid understanding on budgets as they relate to proposals and grants is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social change, preferably in domestic violence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others of diverse age, language, race, ethnicity, religious belief, mental/physical abilities, and socioeconomic status.
  • Knowledge in crisis intervention and domestic violence or ability to complete Neopolitan Lighthouse 40-hour domestic violence training. Having a 40-hour ICADV approved domestic violence training certificate is a plus.
  • Must be able to pass the Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional exam.
  • Private automobile required.

Work Hours:

  • The schedule for this position is 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. However, the Provisions Coordinator must be available to work some evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
