Supporting Survivors by Supporting Advocates
This workshop will provide an overview of the We Deserve Better Project. First, we will explore the key findings from a national assessment detailing the experiences of 265 anti-violence advocates. Then, participants will discuss recommendations and collectively develop diverse strategies to improve working conditions. We center this session on three outcomes: increasing awareness of anti-violence advocates’ experiences nationwide, actionable recommendations for each participant to leave the session with at least one recommendation to improve working conditions within their own organization, and networking with at least one other advocate to help participants foster ongoing collaboration and support within the field.
