Mindful Learning for Gender-Based Violence Trainers
How can we, as trainers, facilitators, and educators, offer professional development and education to advocates in the field of gender-based violence while avoiding desensitization to the content we present?
Additionally, how can we remain aware of the emotional impact and triggers our participants may experience while learning?
This session will explore how trauma impacts learning outcomes, cognitive processing, and engagement. We will discuss how incorporating trauma-informed techniques into your training can create a culture of empathy, safety, and empowerment. Additionally, we will utilize methods from adult education and other approaches that enhance retention.
This comprehensive strategy examines psychology, social work, education, and gender-based violence to improve service delivery and promote well-being.
