The 002nd District Police Department in partnership with St. Elizabeth Catholic Church is sponsoring a Domestic Violence March: Honoring Victims and Survivors of Domestic Violence on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 8:30am at Victory Monument, 3500 S. Martin Luther King Dr., Chicago, IL 60653. Step off is at 9am.
The March is designed to raise awareness and provide education about domestic violence in our community. All proceeds will be used to support the event and provide emergency resources and services to victims and survivors of domestic violence in our community.
The mission of the 002nd District Police department is to empower individuals, families and victims by providing education prevention, intervention and treatment for Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault. We believe that violence is a learned behavior. We also seek to empower the community and support individuals and families that may become victims, witnesses, and/or at risk of domestic violence, through community partnerships, domestic violence education and through access to resources.
We need your support. We are looking for sponsors and donations to support the event, especially from businesses that are located in and around the Bronzeville area and or along the March route. In order for the 002nd District Police department to adhere to our mission for victims of domestic violence we need the support and commitment of all our community partners. Please join us, your support and partnership is very important in order to get work done to address domestic violence.
