Healing Together – Vicarious Trauma

March 20, 2025 @ 1:35 pm - 2:20 pm

Working with domestic violence survivors can be triggering and often leaves you feeling overwhelmed, tired, angry, or helpless. Domestic violence is a sensitive topic that affects millions of people directly and indirectly. The goal of our presentation is to educate the attendees on domestic violence, vicarious trauma, and ways to help both survivors and professionals heal. We want to be able to provide the most accurate information on the topics we will be discussing; therefore, we will be incorporating statistics and information from our Mujeres Latinas en Acción website, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), and Psychology Today. Our hope is that our presentation can help you leave feeling more knowledgeable about domestic violence and vicarious trauma while also having learned ways in which they can take care of themselves to continue helping those they work with and care for.
