Reiki is a holistic healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that supports the body’s natural ability to heal through light touch. Reiki positively affects the subtle energy that flows through all living things, restoring balance to the body, mind and spirit. A Reiki session induces a state of profound rest that is deeply healing. A common response to a treatment is inner peace.
During a Reiki treatment, the recipient remains fully clothed and typically lies down in a comfortable position. The practitioner’s hands are placed lightly on or near the recipient’s body, and they may move their hands to different positions throughout the session. The specific hand positions may vary, but they often include areas such as the head, shoulders and limbs.
