Breaking Cycles of Violence: The Role of Social Investment in Addressing Domestic and Gender-Based Violence
Domestic violence is cyclical, deeply rooted in political and social systems, and worsened by chronic disinvestment in marginalized communities. This disinvestment creates conditions that perpetuate violence, manifesting in various forms such as community, family, and school violence. The objective of this session is to identify and analyze the underlying factors driving these cycles of violence and to explore actionable solutions. By combining data analysis, policy advocacy, and personal narratives, we will illustrate how comprehensive, community-driven interventions can address both individual and systemic causes. The intended outcome is to equip participants with strategies to break these cycles and promote safer, healthier environments, ultimately fostering resilience and long-term well-being within our communities.
