As we near celebrating 50 years of supporting our community, Mujeres Latinas en Acción invites you to join us for a Virtual 5k on October 1 to kick-off Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Participation in the race is open to everyone. You can run, walk, or dance this virtual 5K race anywhere, anytime! Sign up here.



Domestic Violence Outreach of the Archdiocese of Chicago is hosting the 7th Annual Domestic Violence Survivors’ Mass at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago! Help us kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month by coming out on October 1 to show support and raise awareness for this important cause. We hope you can join us as we gather to pray for an end to domestic violence! Mass will also be livestreamed. More details here.



 Fierce Women of Faith and the Illinois Domestic Violence Hotline invite you to the Center of Englewood’s Re-launch Celebration on October 1. There will be music, food, giveaways, resources, and more!


Wings is hosting the Purple Tie Ball, a hybrid event that commemorates Domestic Violence Awareness Month and celebrates our survivors who are now hopeful, free and thriving, on October 1. This year’s theme is the Roaring 20’s! More info here.




 Wings’ upcoming Dance to End Domestic Violence charity event on October 2 is a two and a half hour Zumba dancing event to bring awareness to domestic violence.


The Network: Advocating Against Domestic Violence is thrilled to invite you to attend our annual Together We Lead Partnership Breakfast on October 6. For the Breakfast, we bring together supporters, members, major donors and leaders in the community to share our accomplishments during the past year as well as our initiatives for the future. Make sure to get your tickets!

Join Between Friends on October 6 at Light Up The Lakefront on North Ave Beach to mark Domestic Violence Awareness Month and show your support for survivors! This is a free outdoor event and no tickets are necessary. ASL and Spanish translation will be provided for all speakers.


Grab your kicks and join Anew: Building Beyond Violence and Abuse for this year’s Keeping Dreams Alive Sneaker Ball on October 7. Our annual flagship fundraiser is returning to an in-person event after two years of going virtual. We are ecstatic to see everyone in person after such a long time! Join us for a night of fun, MC’d by ABC-7’s Val Warner, live music provided by I’m With Frank, dancing, food, games, silent auction and raffles!


Join Catholic Charities Domestic Violence Services, Black Catholic Women Say No to Domestic Violence, and Domestic Violence Outreach of the Archdiocese of Chicago as we unite hands of different churches, denominations and backgrounds as we RALLY, WALK & STAND in prayer saying NO to Domestic Violence on October 8!

We’ll be at the Fire House, at 2111 S. Hamlin Ave.



The Queen of All Saints and St. Mary of the Woods Social Justice Ministries invite you to a Mass in Honor of Survivors of Domestic Violence & Informational Reception on October 12 with ACDVO Director, Father Chuck Dahm. Join us after Mass for refreshments with Fr. Charles Dahm in the Holy Name Room to learn more about ACDVO and how to better respond to domestic violence in our parishes. A Q&A session will follow.



This is Arab American Family Services’ 15th Annual Walk In Faith Not In Fear Walk, against domestic violence and cancer. For years, we have educated, brought awareness, advocated, and have helped save lives of those who have been impacted. We hope together, we can end domestic violence and cancer, and give love and support to our survivors and their families. We are asking you to WALK WITH US! Join us at our 15th walk and spread the word. The walk will take place on Saturday, October 8 at Lake Katherine in Palos Heights.


St. Hubert Catholic Parish will be hosting guest speakers, including survivor LaTasha Unseld, Megan Wiesner of Wings and Father Dahm of the Archdiocese of Chicago Domestic Violence Outreach to address domestic violence awareness and what a healthy relationship looks like on October 15.


Stand Tall will be held on Saturday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Oak Park Country Club. The evening, hosted by Sarah’s Inn, will include cocktails, small plates, desserts, entertainment, and a live and silent auction. Tickets are $175/person.

Join us on October 20 at the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation’s 2022 annual fundraiser “Celebrating Allies” as we bring together our supporters, advocates, allies, and survivors to celebrate the work of ending sexual harm and uplift those who are making a difference. This year, we will honor researcher, entrepreneur, and strategist McKensie Mack for their work creating transformational organizational cultures that examine and deconstruct oppressive systems.


Hope Family Services invites you to Copacabana Casino Night on October 22. Join us for an evening of raising awareness for survivors!

 Please join The Network on October 24 for a free virtual lunch and learn focusing on the continuum of harms that survivors face in housing. As a group, we will evaluate and discuss harms that survivors of violence face in accessing and maintaining housing. After identifying the spectrum of harm, we will review legal and policy protections and solutions to mitigate harms to survivors and encourage safe housing for all.


Bring a picture to the public altar as we share memories around a bonfire with hotdogs and hot chocolate! Learn about Dia de los Muertos, domestic violence resources, and hear from guest speaker Roman Villarreal with Family Rescue on October 27.




Prepare for Veto Session, the 2023 Illinois Legislative Session, and beyond! This free Legislative Advocacy Training on October 28 will provide an overview of the legislative process, rules for lobbying, and how to maximize your advocacy efforts. It will conclude with a brief overview of upcoming priorities for The Network.



Please join us The Network on October 31 to learn about the ways that gender-based violence survivors are stalked and harassed online. During this Online Abuse Training, we will cover how people who harm use technology to gain power and control and what survivors can do to recognize this abuse and develop safety plans.
