Systems Advocacy Coordinator
Megan Merrill serves as the Systems Advocacy Coordinator at The Network: Advocating Against Domestic Violence. Megan began her work on behalf of survivors of gender-based violence as a volunteer with The Network in 2014, later volunteering on a domestic violence crisis hotline. She previously served as a legal advocate at Chicago’s Domestic Violence Courthouse, where she supported survivors in navigating legal and other bureaucratic systems. She is passionate about assisting criminalized survivors of gender-based violence, building community-based alternatives to the criminal legal system, and mobilizing communities to deliver mutual aid and other community-centered supports.
Megan is a Certified Domestic Violence Professional and earned a MA in Applied Translation (Russian to English) from London Metropolitan University, as well as a BSJ from Northwestern University.
