Madeleine Behr
Deputy Director for Policy & Systems Advocacy
Madeleine Behr (she/her) serves as the Deputy Director for Policy & Systems Advocacy of The Network: Advocating Against Domestic Violence. As Deputy Director for Policy & Systems Advocacy, Madeleine works to ensure successful implementation of survivor-centered laws and systems in Illinois, and supports The Network’s policy priorities in coordination with the Policy, Advocacy and Research Team.
Prior to joining The Network, Madeleine served as Policy & Communications Director for the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (CAASE), leading policy and advocacy efforts to support survivors of sexual assault and trafficking. Madeleine holds a Master’s degree in public policy from the DePaul University School of Public Service, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a recipient of the Impact Award by the Chicago Foundation for Women for efforts in passing and implementing the Pretrial Fairness Act, a first-of-its-kind law to prohibit the use of money bond in pretrial decisions.
